Cinematic Animator
Traveller’s Tales is seeking talented individuals to help bolster its hugely successful animation team with ‘Cinematic Animators’. The role will entail the creation of high quality animation and lip sync animation for cinematic sequences for a high-profile project currently in development. The role would suit candidates of all experience levels that have a strong talent for acting, timing and performance in their animation.
The ideal applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:
Essential:
• Passion for character animation, with a strong emphasis on performance
• Experience animating in Maya
• Self-motivation and enthusiasm
• Good communication skills and at ease working in a team
• Capable of working to tight deadlines
Desirable:
• an understanding of camera grammar, staging and the principles of cinematography
• experience of Motion Builder
The positions are on a six month fixed-term contract, in-house, with the potential for extension.

Render Technology Programmer
We are seeking new members to join the team developing technology at the core of all TTGames productions, from AAA games on every major console and handheld device (over 100 million units sold to date), to our BAFTA award-winning TV shows, broadcast on major networks around the world. The successful candidate will play a significant part in shaping the way art, animation and designs are produced across new projects, as well as keeping our technology up to date with the state of the art in the industry.
We are looking for candidates with:
- A good degree in Computer Science, Maths or Physics or related subject (2.i or above)
- Fluent in C++ and object oriented programming
- Experience of Direct X, OpenGL or similar graphics APIs
- A structured approach to programming with the desire to write clean, well commented, documented and maintainable code.
- A positive can do attitude coupled with the ability to get things done.
A strong candidate will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience programming consoles at a low-level on PS3, 360, Wii or PC.
- Understanding of machine architecture.
- Strong 3D maths skills and an in-depth understanding of real-time rendering techniques.
- Fluent in Direct X or a console API, and preferably HLSL, GLSL or CG shader programming.
- Strong debugging skills in a multi-threaded / multi-core environment.
- The ability to analyse and optimise algorithms for efficiency.

Layout Animator
Traveller's Tales is seeking talented individuals to help bolster it's hugely successful cinematic animation team with a 'Layout Animator'. The position will entail the creation of layouts for cutscenes and will involve the blocking in of shots, and animation for cinematic sequences in our video games. The position would suit graduates, or experienced individuals, with a strong interest and talent in cinematography, and visual story telling.
The ideal applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:
Essential:
*Passion for story telling through visual media
*An understanding of Camera grammar, staging, and the principles of cinematography
*Experience in Maya
*Self motivation and enthusiasm
*Good communication skills and at ease with working in a team
*Capable of working to tight deadlines
Beneficial:
*Experience in storyboarding
*Photoshop experience
*An understanding of character animation principles

Tools Programmer

We are looking for candidates with:

- Fluent in C++ and object oriented programming
- Experience of Direct X, OpenGL or similar graphics APIs
- Experience of writing user interfaces using one or more common UI libraries (Win32 GDI/wxWindows/Qt/...)
- Ability to interact with non-technical disciplines (such as artists and designers), understand their needs, deliver solutions they find intuitive and helpful
- A real desire to make users' day-to-day work easier, simpler and more productive
A strong candidate will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience of writing plugins for common 3D and 2D packages (Autodesk Maya and Adobe Photoshop preferably)
- A confident grasp of the mathematics involved in CG rendering and animation
- The ability to analyse and optimise algorithms for efficiency
- Experience developing products for one or more non-PC gaming devices

Animators
We are looking for Animators to join our In-Game Animation Team. We welcome applications from experienced Animators within and outside of the games industry and are also happy to hear from recent graduates.
The ideal applicants should be able to demonstrate their skills and experience in the following:
• Show a sound understanding of animation principles
• Demonstrate an appreciation of acting and delivering strong performance in their animations
• Experience animating in Maya is a strong advantage but not essential
• In addition, experience with MotionBuilder and MoCap is beneficial
• Lip-synching experience is an advantage
• We're looking for candidates who are self-motivated and enthusiastic
• Technically competent and have an understanding of animation processes
• A good communicator and at ease with working in a team
• Capable of working to tight deadlines

Junior Simulation Programmer
Traveller's Tales is seeking a talented and enthusiastic programmer to join their Simulation Team, who develop cross platform Physics, A.I. and Character technology for upcoming LEGO titles. This role isn't restricted to a single discipline and offers a great opportunity to work on a variety of systems. Although not essential, previous experience in one of the following would be a huge advantage: AI, Scripting, Physics, or I.K.
The ideal candidate will have:
• A good degree in Computer Science or related subject (2.i or above)
• Strong C++ and objected oriented software engineering skills
• Good communications skills
• Strong 3D maths

We are looking for junior artists who show a creative spark, and strong natural artistic ability. Maya experience would be desirable, but is not essential.

Tech Artists
We are looking for Tech artists to implement game play setup, using a combination of Maya and in house editors. On projects which will expand the LEGO gaming experience far beyond the Star Wars universe. Candidates should show a passion for games at all levels. Maya/industry experience would be desirable, but is not essential.

Environment Artists
We are looking for artists to work on all next generation consoles, across a wide range of exciting high profile projects. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of advanced shaders, and a high level of creative and artist ability. Previous Maya/industry experience would be desirable, but is not essential.

Traveller's Tales are currently seeking game play programmers. Experience with writing is a must. Experience with leading game play programming would also be an advantage. The candidate should also have an eye for detail as well as an understanding ot the nuances of what makes a game 'feel' good.
