Data Scientist

We are looking for a talented data scientist with a passion for mobile games and cutting edge analytics, to join our fast-paced studio at Playdemic in Wilmslow.

You will sit at the forefront of our analytics team, working in collaboration with our games teams, to bring positive changes to our games through data. You'll have high levels of autonomy to give you the freedom to dig into the data and use your findings to dictate and direct your own projects.

Day-to-day, you'll:

  • Analyse player data to proactively identify and prioritise new opportunities and optimisations.
  • Be the champion of these ideas and collaborate with experts from different teams in order to make them happen.
  • Design multi-variant tests to prove, tune and measure your hypotheses.
  • Use your expert skills to perform in-depth analysis of player data.

Pre-Visualisation Artist - 6 month FTC

We are seeking to recruit a Pre-Visualisation Artist on a 6 month fixed term contract to join our successful Cinematic Animation team in Wilmslow.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on high profile projects, creating fun cinematics with a talented and creative team. We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated team players who respond well to direction and feedback, can work to deadlines, and who can communicate ideas in a creative environment.

As well as experienced previs artists, this position would suit graduate film makers, or those with equivalent experience, and individuals with experience as camera operators and/or photographers with a strong interest in film making.

Writer

An exciting opportunity has arisen in that we are on the lookout for a Writer to join the Tt team.  This is a permament position, reporting into the Script Editor and based at our studio in Wilmslow.

Main Responsibilities

  • Writing story outlines, treatments and scripts that add to the overall gameplay experience, with an emphasis on humour.
  • Creating the Story Overview in collaboration with all departments and supporting the Game Director, ensuring that the story serves the gameplay while still making narrative sense.
  • Writing in-game dialogue, explanation and hints which both informs and entertains the player.
  • Addressing feedback from the design departments, cutscene department and external stakeholders to produce revised gameplay and story content.
  • Working with the design team to manage and track the status of the dialogue and proactively see through the implementation to completion.
  • Attending casting sessions for voice actors and partaking in meetings to finalise the casting of the roles.
  • Participating in VO recording sessions, either in person or via networking facilities, to provide contextual feedback and if required, act as the session Director.
  • Working with external parties, providing them with any relevant scripts, outlines or story information they require.

General

  • Undertake relevant on-the-job training where required and keep up-to-date with industry advancements and technologies.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent story and scriptwriting skills, particularly in the field of comedy.

Compliance Testers - 7 month FTC

The QA team in Wilmslow are looking to recruit Compliance Testers on 6 month fixed term contracts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform ongoing compliance testing of any assigned software, identifying any compliance infringements or defects when they are found.
  • Reporting all compliance infringements and bugs found during test execution into JIRA.
  • Working closely with the Compliance Leads to complete assigned tasks to a high standard.
  • Acting as the point of contact for any compliance queries on a specific platform in the absence of the Compliance Lead.
  • Continually stay on top of any new compliance rulings or documentation revisions for each platform.
  • Performing confirmation/regression testing of any new code; updating bugs as required.

Level Director

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring that levels go from paper design and block-out through to finished “box-ready” levels, and being the driving force for ensuring this is done to the best possible standard.
  • Actively communicate level content and requirements to all stakeholders involved in the level.
  • Driving level reviews and ensuring that all work generated from these is actively communicated to both key stakeholders and Production.

Video Artist

Reporting to the Head of User Acquisition, you will be providing video content for our games to be placed across various user acquisition media channels, i.e. Facebook, Instagram and video networks.

You will be able to view how users engage with your ad creatives on a real time basis, creating a unique flow in receiving feedback and iterating on the work you produce.

You must have a strong portfolio demonstrating excellent video design skills and creative flair.

Core Skills & Experience

  • Creation of cinematic pre-visualisations (2D or 3D with a focus on storytelling through camera grammar, with minimal or no animation) based on cut-scene descriptions / camera scripts and direction. 
  • Asset gathering as per requirements of each scene. 
  • Use of commercial and in-house tools to produce high quality pre-visualisations.
  • To research and reference as needed to increase quality and performance. 
  • Export and integrate data into the project and check its functionality.

Mid/Senior Tools Programmers

Senior IT Administrator

We are looking to recruit a Senior IT Administrator, working for WB Games, but based at the Tt Games studio in Knutsford.

As a Senior IT Administrator you will be expected to champion best practice in the field of corporate cyber security. This is a hands-on role requiring a flexible and agile outlook to ensure that security is maintained at the highest level without unduly impacting studio operations. You will be part of an international team delivering core security services to staff across WB Games portfolio of development studios.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical, forensic, and troubleshooting skills; experience in integrating and securing multi-technology platforms; solid communication skills; and a desire to tackle complex problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designing, implementing, and monitoring protection for IT infrastructure and Intellectual Property.
  • Architecting and deploying cyber security systems that implement the requirements of corporate policy.
  • Working with local studio IT to ensure that:
    • Incident response processes are in place.
    • Systems and services are audited regularly and security posture is maintained and improved.
    • Identified potential vulnerabilities are addressed in a timescale compliant with threat assessment.
    • Cyber security is prioritised whilst maintaining studio focus on game development.
  • Performing feasibility studies and proof of concept testing to regularly improve the company’s security stack.

Senior IT Engineer

We are seeking to recruit two Senior IT Engineers, one to based at our Knutsford studio and the other to be based at our Wilmslow studio.

As a Senior IT Engineer working for TT Games the purpose of this role will be to ensure sound delivery of technical services for the studio. You will be part of a team supporting infrastructure that delivers core services to developers and administrative staff. You will be providing full life cycle support for all IT systems including a mix of Windows and Linux server, VMware, Hyper-V, Cisco, Palo Alto, NetApp, Subversion, Team City, HPE Comware, Jira, and more. You will also be working in a fast-paced environment driving performance and reliability from software, infrastructure, and cloud environments on behalf of TT Games. You will tackle challenging, unique situations every day and work with other functions and employees within Warner Bros. You will be looked upon as a subject matter expert and advocate to fellow team members, making reliable technical decisions around supporting and deploying large-scale services and engineering complex systems that run our business critical systems. Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor all network, security, and computer systems.
  • Responsible for management, maintenance, and architecture of storage, virtualized environment, servers, network devices, and productivity tools.

Head of IT

We are looking for an experienced Head of IT to design, socialise and implement overall IT strategy, vision and goals for TT Games development locations.  This role will function as an integral member of the TT Games senior team and will closely collaborate with business process owners to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions. 

In addition, you will oversee and participate in day-to-day IT infrastructure, game technologies, applications and desktop support operations and work closely with colleagues across the wider WB group.

We are looking for self-motivated candidates, comfortable with taking ownership and providing leadership in a hands-on and collaborative manner.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Formulate and deploy long-term strategic plans for enabling efficient and cost-effective technologies to provide a customer-centric set of services.
  • Establish and promote the implementation of overall IT department vision, mission and goals.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organisation’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
  • Manage the IT teams, including recruitment, day to day supervision and scheduling, development, performance management and reward.

Reporting to the Head of Production you will be responsible for the development, launch and ongoing growth of one of Playdemic’s new games. You will have experience of leading, motivating and organising a development team of 8 or more people to produce outstanding player experiences.

We want you to innovate and drive the implementation of new features and functions that make the game more profitable, viral and most importantly fun! You will proactively use business intelligence tools, in order to apply metrics-driven development based on actual user behaviour.

You’ll be one step ahead – maintaining workflow, pre-empting issues and ensuring releases and launches run smoothly. You’ll be constantly juggling priorities, and no two days will be the same so a calm and organised approach is essential. This role is all about communication, and your input into the smooth running of the studio will be vital.

The Role

As a Game Client Programmer at Playdemic, you will be part of a dedicated and dynamic team developing high quality mobile social games targeted at the top of the grossing and download charts. Reporting to the Game Producer, you will work closely with game designers and server side developers to develop the game client. You must be comfortable working in an agile environment. You’ll also be expected to estimate timescales for your tasks in advance and deliver milestones as part of the development process.

You will need to be an experienced Game Client Programmer who is self-motivated and a strong team player. You take pride in your work and you understand how to deliver a quality product. You have a passion for games and you want to make games to be played by millions of people across the world.

We have a variety of positions from front line development to lower level system work based at either our Knutsford or Wilmslow offices, both at senior and non senior programmer levels.   • Implement gameplay for non-standard game mechanics and levels, including game bosses.

Junior VFX Artist - Fixed Term Contract

We are seeking to recruit a Junior VFX Artist on a initial fixed term contract.  This position is full time and will be based in the Art team at our Knutsford studio.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating visual effects for the game (levels and cutscenes) compliant with game design and vision.
  • Creation of effects using packages provided (Maya and Photoshop).
  • Creation of particles using 2D textures (Photoshop) and in-house editors (particle/LED).
  • Using Maya Fluid systems to create animating textures when required.
  • Creation of bespoke and generic scenery effects (smoke/fire etc).
  • Creation of bespoke character effects (shields/suits/hits/footsteps etc).
  • Placement of static effects in levels.

We are ideally looking for a mid-level programmer, however we will consider applications from strong junior programmers.

TT Fusion, a division of Traveller’s Tales, are looking for QA Testers to join the QA team based at our Wilmslow studio. These are Fixed Term Contract roles with immediate starts, running until the 25th August 2017.

Whilst previous experience or having a relevant degree is ideal, we are open to accepting applications from candidates with no previous experience/qualifications but they must be able to demonstrate a real passion and interest in gaming and have a natural curiosity to find bugs!
