Junior Sound Designer

TT-Fusion are looking for a Junior Sound Designer to join the in house audio team at Wilmslow.

The successful applicant must have the following:

  • A keen interest in the latest games, game audio and sound design concepts
  • The ability to create high quality sound effects for all aspects of our games
  • Strong sound to picture skills, which bring cutscenes to life
  • A strong work ethic and a desire to learn new skills.
  • A HND or degree in an audio related subject or relevant experience
  • A good understanding of wave editors/DAWs
  • Someone who is able to work well within a team

Bonus attributes include:

  • Experience of industry standard editors such as FMOD and Wwise.
  • Experience in implementing video game audio at any level.
  • Knowledge of foley recording.
  • An understanding of a scripting language eg Java, HTML, C++.

Level Construction Artist

We’re looking for a Level Construction Artist to join our highly skilled team.  The role available is based at our Knutsford development studio.

Main Responsibilities:
Level specific LEGO placements
• The design and construction of level specific LEGO placements as required / specified by Game and/or Level Director
• Setup and triggering of level-specific LEGO placements via in-house editors
• Optimisation of level specific LEGO Game placements and Loding where required across platforms

General
• Setup and maintenance of level cameras both 1 and 2 player cameras
• Layout of level geometry based on design documentation and direction provided by the assigned Level Director
• Work with Game Mechanics, Game Technology and Tools Programmers, providing feedback on new tools and systems
• Undertake relevant on-the-job training where required and keep up-to-date with industry advancements and technologies

Skills & Qualifications:
• Relevant degree or equivalent level qualification

• Good working knowledge and proficiency in Maya
• Solid understanding of game editing tools and software

Senior Render Programmer

Traveller's Tales (Knutsford) is looking for a 'Senior Render Programmer' to join our Render-Tech team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a highly successful and creative team, working on cutting edge rendering techniques supporting the development of multiple AAA titles accross a wide range of platforms from mobile to next-gen. Having an in depth knowledge of cutting edge graphics techniques the ideal candidate will be able to take a lead role in the development of our render technology while working closely with our art teams. They would also be expected to provide support to junior team members generally taking a active role in leading the evolution of our technology. 

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of C/C++ and HLSL, GLSL or Cg.
  • Excellent debugging skills.
  • Experience of either next gen or current gen console development.
  • Experience of mobile development a bonus.
  • Has been involved in the start-to-finish development of key render technologies for at least 2 AAA games. 
  • Experience with runtime performance analysis, profiling tools, and optimisation techniques including CPU, GPU and shaders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, plus the ability to communicate ideas with other disciplines.
  • Familiarity with CPU architectures and multithreaded programming.
  • Familiarity with current and cutting edge rendering techniques.
  • Excellent software design skills, knowledge of algorithms, data structures, software architectures and development methods.
  • Experience of mentoring and coaching junior engineers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Highly motivated, with a passion for games and graphics.

Pre-Visualisation Artists

We are looking for experienced Previs Artists to join Traveller's Tales successful Cinematic Animation Team. The selected candidates will have the opportunity to work on high profile projects, creating fun cinematics with a talented and creative team. We are looking for enthusiastic, self motivated team players who respond well to direction and feedback, can work to deadlines, and who can communicate ideas in a creative environment.

As well as experienced previs artists, this position would suit graduate film makers, or those with equivalent experience, and individuals with experience as camera operators and/or photographers with a strong interest in film making.

We welcome enquiries from within and outside of the games industry who are able to demonstrate their skills and experience in the following:

  • A solid appreciation of cinematic storytelling conventions, including camera technique and terminology, grammar, composition, staging and continuity.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Maya, or similar, experience is a strong advantage.
  • Computer literacy is essential.

Game Mechanics: Junior Programmer

Game Technology Programmer

We are looking for a programmer to join our Game Technology team. The Game Technology team is part of the Engine Room Department, and is responsible for creating and maintaining the nuts and bolts that glue our award winning games together.

You will be working with every platform conceivable, from hand-held devices, through desktop computers to consoles both current and next generation. Because of this, you will be using a wide variety of development environments and programming languages and tackling technical challenges of every sort. No day will be the same, and you won't be bored!

During your day you will be working with all the internal development departments in Traveller's Tales: the game programmers, the low level renderer programmers, the artists and designers who produce the amazing content that makes our games alive, the production team who manage the process and the publishers who get our games out to the public. Finally, but not least, you will liase with the platform holders to resolve technical challenges and overcome any submission problems that come with the fast pace of the console and hand held market.

You will be expected to get involved with all aspects of the Traveller's Tales code base to ensure each programming department works effectively together. For that reason, you will need to have experience with working with large code bases and be able to understand other people's code quickly. Particular areas of expertise would be helpful in rendering, tools, audio, networking and online, and resource management.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrable games industry experience including several shipped titles
  • A good degree in Computer Science, Math or Physics or related subject (2.i or above) or equivalent experience
  • Fluent in C++ and object oriented programming
  • A structured approach to programming with the desire to write clean, well commented, documented and maintainable code.
  • A positive can do attitude coupled with the ability to get things done.

A strong candidate will also have one or more of the following:

  • Experience programming consoles at a low-level on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360, WiiU or PC.
  • Understanding of machine architecture.
  • Strong 3D math skills.
  • Strong debugging skills in a multi-threaded / multi-core environment.
  • The ability to analyse and optimise algorithms for efficiency.
  • Knowledge of Python, SQL, Java

Animation Production Manager

We are looking for highly self-motivated applicants who can confidently oversee all aspects of animation production from script to screen.

Ideal candidate for the role would have/be:

  • Demonstrable experience in managing animation production either in tv, film, or games.
  • Confident working in large teams with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to take initiative using own discretion and skills to work with limited supervision.
  • Thrives in a high volume and demanding enviroment.
  • Excellent organisation skills, and be comfortable multitasking.
  • Computer literate - confident and experienced with MS Office, with a working knowledge of Maya being a strong advantage.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.

A strong candidate will also have one or more of the following:

  • Degree, related qualification or equivalent experience in Animation, or related film-making
  • Experience working with games
  • Previously held a position as a CG Animator
